I told my work as soon as we had decided for sure. I wanted them to have plenty of time to fill my position and my work doesn't do paid maternity leave so there was no issue there. I think it was around week 25.
ohhhh, good question. I"m anxious to see what everyone says. I stopped working last week and as of now, I"m taking a 6 month maternity leave starting after Charlie is born. So, my boss thinks I'm returning sometime in May. However, I may decide NOT to return or to just work per diem (part time for nurses). I guess I would need to tell them in March? I don't know, sticky situation.
I was pretty sure I wanted to stay at home with DD, but I didn't want to close the door completely, so I put in for a five-month leave. After I had her, I used up all the sick leave I had (at my job, this was not paid out if I quit) and kept most of my vacation time (this was paid out if I quit). By November, I knew I wasn't coming back, so I went in and resigned. I wasn't supposed to come back for a couple months, so this was plenty of time for them to find someone to replace me permanently.

I am planning on talking to the bosses next week because I am planning on leaving before Thanksgiving. Originally, DH and I were planning my last day to be Halloween, but I am a chicken and kept procrastinating talking to the bosses.
I ended up telling them about a month ago (so around 5.5 months?). They appreciated the extra heads up so that I could be involved with interviewing my replacement.
I'm very interested in this. When you tell work that you are pregnant, are they allowed to ask what your plans are after the baby is born? I'm afraid my boss will ask, and I'm not ready to tell her yet.
Mine asked when I told her about my pg in our one on one.. and I told her that I"m not too sure... I need to weigh out the daycare prices etc... so I bought some time this way.

I'm a current SAHM, but here's what I did:
