what does round ligament pain feel like?

in 2nd Trimester

This is my second pregnancy and my doc told me that everything will be happening a lot faster this time around.  Today I experienced sharp pains that shot down from around my belly button towards my legs.

 

It definitely felt like a muscle pinch or something, not like my uterus or anything...  Since I am getting bigger, I'm wondering if this could be round ligament pain since I'm stretching out quicker?  TIA!

    I would say yes only because my pain is similar. Sometimes it feels almost like a stabbing pain even! Good luck!

    a sharp-ish pain in certain spots around the base/sides of your belly...not like cramps at all, at least for me.

    This is my first pregnancy and I started feeling these pains the past few days, I even called the nurse line through my insurance to make sure these feelings were round ligament pains and the nurse confirmed that what everyone has said so far (and what I have been feeling as well) are indeed round ligament pains.  It isn't the most comforting of feelings in my opinion, and definitely freaks me out, but apparently it is all normal!

    That sounds exactly like round ligament pain. It is a sharper more sudden pain then a cramp is and like you said, it doesn't really feel like it is coming from your uterus. You will probably notice is most of you move suddenly or when you sneeze or cough. The other day I sneezed and felt like the muscles in my abdomen all ripped in half!

    A sharp stretching pain.  Mine is usually on my lower right side.

    Yep, sounds like it. Mine can get prett bad, if I stand up sometimes I feel like I have to stay hunched over because the pulling hurts.

    THIS!  Mine are not cramps at all, but sharp shooting pains that come and go.  I won't have it for days, then all of a sudden one side will bug me for a day or two, then nothing again for days.

    My doc said it will lessen further into the 2nd Tri.  She also advised to put heat on it if it's really bothersome, and that it's not harmful in any way.
