**Working Moms Check-in**

Hey mamas! Sorry I'm a little late on this, it's been a crazy day here!

List 2 ups and 2 downs for the week.

QOTW: What do you do for meals during the week? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, what does it look like in your house?

I married a ginger.

Yes DD started sleeping a lot better this week. We had more good nights than bad.

Yes She started rolling both ways last Friday afternoon. Now the pedi doesn't side eye us for letting her sleep on her belly, since she rolls there on her own. Hallelujah!

No DH and I have been a bit more argumentative lately. Every time we're together it seems like we're arguing or he's trying to "practice" for #2.

No DD had her 4 month shots today. She's fine, but it makes me so sad for those 20 seconds she cried afterward.

QOTW: Meals are kind of crazy here. For breakfast I usually just have a bowl of cereal, and DH eats some leftover dinner from the night before (he hates breakfast foods, weirdo...). Lunch I usually bring something microwavable to work, or a sandwich. Dinner, when it happens, is usually quick and easy. DH works until 7 or 8 most nights, and I hate cooking for myself, especially after getting DD to bed. She makes me so exhausted some nights with all the swaying and bouncing I need to do for her to just settle down. She likes to play Stick out tongue

  • 2 ups:  week went by pretty fast, DD slept good 4 out of 5 nights

2 downs:  i was in a bad mood most of the week (don't know why), i don't have another down

Meals:  breakfast-- cereal and OJ, snack -- nutrigrain bar,  lunch -- sandwich, fruit,  quaker rice cakes, snack- fiberone bar, dinner -- we cook nearly every night.  I usually do most of the cooking during the week but it still ends up being a group effort b/c of juggling DD.  We eat a lot of leftovers too.

Ups- DH got his drill check and we got a couple bills paid off. We almost own the kid. We have a sitter for tomorrow night and DS will be out of the house. Sleep!

Downs- DS has been on a nebulizer and it's not helping much. He still coughs like crazy and is puking up a lot of his food. DS quit STTN due to this.

QOTW: It varies so much I can't even start to make up what is typical. We do try to keep it stuff we are making that isn't frozen premade junk, but that doesn't always happen.

    That cracked me up.

  • DOWN: DH was gone all week for week. Caleb got up in the middle of the night for two nights to eat which he had not done it weeks. UP: DH got home a day early. I threw my mom a really successful birthday dinner Dinners for the week are somewhat organized but not really. Monday nights we make whatever. Tuesdays, I want to try to make something in the crockpot. Wednesdays, I a, trying to do a pasta dish. I only work Monday through Wednesday, so Thursdays and Fridays are whatever.

  • Up 1: I started making CDs in my spare time and love it.  Up 2: I got to see my BFF for the first time in 2 weeks and we had fun with DD.

Down 1: H is sick, so any and all of my at home time is taking care of DD alone.  Down 2: Its been so rainy all week that I have not been able to take DD outside much.

Luckily we had lots of leftovers from last week to last almost all of this week.  Our go-to is chicken, but what I tried to make today was horribly low-grade chicken with bloody veins in it...eew.  I get oatmeal with PB every morning, but on Wednesday I made ham and eggs.  Lunch is always a 'find whatever is edible' meal.

My house is a mess..and I'm not cleaning it :-D

  • Up 1: DH and I went out for an early date tonight, our third since DD was born, and the first one where we ventured out of our neighborhood.  It felt a little rushed but was still nice.  We should do it more often but we're both so tired all the time!

Up 2: I heard DD really laugh a few nights ago.  I'd heard little chuckles, and DD and our nanny had both heard her laugh, but this was the first time I really heard a belly laugh.

Down 1: I'm still struggling with whether to stay at work or not.  Problem is, I love my job.  But part of me definitely doesn't want to be there a lot of the time.

Down 2: DD isn't pooping very frequently and is eating less than a few wks ago.  But she's pretty happy and the pedi says it's ok but to keep an eye on her.

I generally eat breakfast from the cafeteria at work or pick up a bagel on my way in.  Lunch is either from the cafeteria (yuck) or we order in or go out to grab something.  Work is usually so busy that I don't have time to run out, but I try to when the weather is nice.  Dinner has been a problem since DD was born.  By the time I'm done feeding and bathing DD, and then I feed her again and put her to bed, I'm tired and it's late to start dinner.  We order in a lot but I get bored of that.  We talk a lot about cooking on the weekends to make dinner for the week but it never happens.  Plus DH is a weird eater -- he's a vegetarian and pretty much eats like a rabbit, so we often just eat random stuff from our fridge/pantry.

  • Ups- I finally can get my LO to laugh for me! Before this she'd only laugh for dad or grandma. New job started and I am beyond thrilled with my shorter commute and getting home an hour earlier than before. Downs-going on week 3 of a nasty cold (thanks daycare germs), can't call in sick to a new job! Had 4month checkup yesterday and didn't realize until the end when I'm checking out and they want her to come in in "3 months for her 9 mo appt" that the whole time pedi thought she was 6 months not 4. Mini heart attack about her shots even though it matched what I thought she wad supposed to get. They were the right shots, but I was super pissed anyway Meals- breakfast is instant oatmeal at work because I'd rather sleep ten minutes than get up and make breakfast at home. Lunch is a sandwich or leftovers and yogurt, eaten while I pump in the electrical closet at work, so fun. Dinner is the best, I am super lucky because DH does almost all of the cooking so I can take care of LO and he worries about dinner. I love it!

  • Yes DS started rolling both ways this week!

Yes De-swaddling is going extremely well. We're down to just a sleep sack from the waist down, and C hasn't wanted to be rocked to sleep lately. He puts himself to sleep in 15 minutes or less most nights now!

No He rolled over for the first time at MIL's house, without me there. I know it's silly, but it made me a little sad.

No DH and I have been arguing over my lack of sex drive. It's nothing serious, just more of an irritation to our relationship than anything else.

QOTW: Breakfast is almost always cereal. We try to pack our lunches 4x/week in an attempt to stick to the budget. Dinner's always pretty quick. We do breakfast for dinner once a week, get a $5 pizza from Little Caesar's once a week, and do other simple meals on the other days.

  • up #1 - DH was on 100% baby duty last night so I could go out with my girlfriends and have some cocktails!  It was so fun and much needed!

up #2 - LO was SO smiley and "talkative" all week - I love those big gummy smiles!

down #1- LO had his 4 mo vaccinations on Monday and had a fever for the next 24 hours and was pretty miserable at daycare.

down #2 - the funding got cut for the program I work in.  I will get assigned to a new program starting Oct 1 and I don't like it nearly as much....

We try to do a lot of freezer meals around here for dinner - it saves so much time in the evenings!  DH makes both of our lunches in the mornings - he typically packs sandwiches and some easy sides.  Breakfast is typically toast while feeding LO his last feeding of the morning before daycare.

  • Ups- DS both started laughing and blowing raspberries his week. Also, I'm off sat-tues, and took DS home for a family reunion and to meet my bff's new baby, and I'm really proud of myself that I am doing it alone without DH's help (my parents both have bad backs and my sister smokes so when I'm home I am the only one who holds him etc). Downs- we took DS to a new daycare this week, which is great that we found someone we really trust and is great with DS (it's an in home, but she's watched my friend's 3 kids for 5 years), but I still can't leave him without crying. I've been back to work for almost two months and it isn't getting any easier for me. Down #2 is that while I'm proudly myself for taking care of DS alone this weekend, I'm also starting to notice that he only wants me and no one else. He did it a few times for Dh last week and while I've been at my parents the two times people have picked him up he wailed until I took him back and then was all smiles, this makes me feel incredibly guilty and not want to put him down :( Food= breakfast is always oatmeal. Lunch is pb&j when home and whatever the hospital is serving or a salad when I'm at work. Dinner is more often than not a clif builder bar. We are terrible at making meals :(

  • Ups: There's a long weekend coming up!  I start working part time next week which means more time with Peter.

Downs: I had to work the overnight shift tonight, so I'll be totallyexhausted tomorrow and the rest of the week when I go back to working the day shift.  Less time seeing DH since I had to leave for work soon after he got home.

QOTW: Dinner is usually planned on Sunday's for the whole week so we at least have an idea of what we're having.  Breakfast consists of cereal or toast or a yogurt. Lunch is usually a salad or Boca product (I became hooked on them during pregnancy)
