Graco Snugride 35 question!

Hey ladies! Do any of you have this car seat? Did it have a head support for your infant or was this something extra you needed to buy? We had a hard time telling at the store!

  • There is a removable infant headrest in the seat. If you look at the picture you can see some black, velvety padding. That is the outer edge of the support. I used that as well as a rolled up receiving blanket on either side for a little extra support since you aren't really supposed to add any after market items behind the baby/between the baby and the seat because it hasn't been crash tested with the seat and can void the warranty.

  • Ours came with an insert but since our guys were both well under 5 lbs when they came home we still had to roll a receiving blanket into a headrest.  I did try the Boppy Noggin Nest but wasn't impressed.

This.  We actually have these carseats.  I love them, just be warned, since they go up to a higher weight limit, they are bigger....not heavier, just bigger.  We drive a car and they BARELY fit in the back....with the seats all the way forward!  We are getting a new van or SUV because of that.  We also have to turn the carseats sideways to get them to go in the opening of the car!  Very nice quality though!

  • We have them and I like them.  But I will say, having been through it now, that it's ridiculous for the seat to be designed for up to 35 lbs.  There's no way my kids will fit in them when they're that heavy.  The kids are 15 months old and on the small side (21 lbs or so) and they're already pretty big in the seats.  By the time kids reach 25 lbs or so most people buy a convertable car seat.

What I'm getting at is a smaller one would be fine, probably a little less bulky in the back seat and a little lighter to carry.  (25 or 30 - I can't remember the smaller size weight limit, sorry)
