Dumb FB question-CD related

I'm trying to create a local FB CD page to try to find more CD mommas.  Would you add it a group (so people would have to join) or would you add it as page so anyone can see and comment?

What's the best way to go about this?

I would think to get the most people it would need to be a page.

I don't know much about pages, but I belong to a FB CD group and it works well.  If you were looking for it to be completely open, you can just set the group to Open. If you want it to be more exclusive/just people from your area and want to be able to moderate who can see the group, you can set to Closed or Secret.  With it Open it will be searchable, which you might want if you are trying attract a wide audience. But I know with our group, it was kind of a word of mouth thing.  You will find some CD mommas in your area, they will add their friends, they will tell their pregnant friends about it, they will ask to be added, etc.  

I think you could do it with a group or a page.
