TTC after 35

NTTC related- INLAWS grrrrr

I'm already on the ledge today with the poor IUI and no job...blah blah. I get this e-mail this morning from the BIL asking when everyone in the family is taking vacation so we can coordinate their visit......seriously buddy...the last thing I want to do on MY vacation is travel around my city with youze fools on my hip.....long weekend visits are fine but spending our entire vacation....we love going places on our own..together time!! Maybe just being a Bee. I have resisted firing off a snarky email!

Re: NTTC related- INLAWS grrrrr

  • I know how you feel.  My BIL does the same thing.  He is the self proclaimed family coordinator.  He has only been married to DH's sister for a few years while I have been around for 16.  I made a rule that DH has to deal with his family and I will deal with mine.  It makes less stress.  I also find counting helps (you can find me in my in-laws bathroom 1-2-3-4).

  • Yeah, I'm right there with you. I told DH under no circumstances was I vacationing with his family.  If I fail IVF, we talked about going to Ireland. He said "well we will have to take my parents". No f'ing way. If this is a cheer me up trip, we are going solo!  argh.   MIL/FIL are coming tomorrow to my house for the night. I'm annoyed already.

  • UGH I can relate to that!  My MIL drives me crazy.  Dh and I are planning to go to Orlando, FL for some fun this summer and MIL says "Why don't you wait til we move there!"  (she and FIL are moving there soon)  Umm no.  In fact I think Orlando will no longer be on the list of vacation possiblities once they DO move there!  No way would I want to spend a vacation at their house.. I am not even sure being in a hotel in the same town would be far enough away..lol.

  • I needed these...I love reading that I am not the only who sometimes wishes my MIL would just STFU.

For instance, she calls today to see how I'm doing, but was asking all about her son. I was like --he is fine! I'm the one who had the work done, apparently when he has to toss one off into the cup--it damages his psyche...get over it. I am getting four injections a day---you do something you love... ;)

So, I can concur and my MIL lives 5 mins away all year long....

  • Omg I agree with Heather..I'm laughing out loud. I really needed this distraction..thanks!  DH's brother, sister.and parents live within 20 min of us. MIL is sooo negative about baby idea. Says I'm too old..lovely

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • Loving this thread. I'm right there with you ladies. MIL is 100% bsc. Have to love her b/c she bore my husband but it stops there. I do my best to not get into a conversation with her and always keep it short.
