I work part time as the bookkeeper for a small real estate company. Yesterday a girl came in looking to rent one of our properties and she was a raging, t-total beyotch. Arguing about paying the rental application fee, asking 50,000 questions and then popping off at the mouth before anyone could answer her, the owner of the house happened to be in the office and she was rude to him, etc. Definitely NOT an ideal tenant. She didn't have proof of employment because she's a stripper and they only get tips, no pay stubs (who knew?!) etc.

So I told the girl that normally calls people to let them know whether or not they got the house that I would call and let this girl know that we were renting with someone else. I called her just a little while ago and got her voicemail, which was her quoting the lyrics of "Lazy Day Song" by Bruno Marz complete with her trying to get her baby to say "bye-bye" at the end. Poor kid. She calls me back about 15 minutes later and I tell her that we had several applicants for the property she was interested in and we ended up chosing another applicant. She comes back with "OH H#LL NO, THIS IS F*^%^*G B^(%S#!T y'all don't want to rent to me because I'm a stripper. I want my $30 back because y'all are wrong, this is (&$*@& and *()^$& and #A6@!!^ and etc. etc. etc. etc.

And let me tell you this, I unloaded on that little girl like she was a freaking pound puppy. Complete with "We didn't choose another applicant because you are a stipper. We chose another applicant because you stormed in the office like a crazy b!tch, showing your a$$ with in 30 seconds of walking in the door and NOBODY in their right mind would willingly sign a year lease to deal with you. So let me give you $30 worth of advice, if you need a place to live, you need to change your attitude and be f^cking nice to the people in a position to help you."

You know what? I really did say that to her. But honestly, I did it so she would listen to me because when I tried to talk to her rationally she wouldn't quit shooting off her own mouth to hear that really, I was trying to HELP her. No rental company is going to pick her up as a tentant the way she was acting and I felt sorry for her. After I said all that to her I told her that I got it, I understood that she was behaving like that because she was scared and probably used to having to fight for herself and her baby. I told her that I didn't judge her for being a stripper and that I understood that sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and I realize that some people will judge her for how she makes her money and that must be hard. But if she wants to find a place to live she needs to leave all of that baggage in the parking lot and sell herself as a decent tenant. It actually ended up being a pretty good talk.

She's young too, only 20 years old with a baby that is almost 1. I'm going to call her tomorrow and see if she was able to sort of some kind of proof of employment and I think one of our property owners is willing to rent to her for a 3 month lease to see how she works out.
