Cloth Diapering

overnight rash

I am new to cloth diapering and the bump and I'm hoping for some more experienced opinions on this.  I read the FAQ about overnight diapering but I didn't see this issue mentioned.  My daughter is sleeping one 6-7 hour stretch overnight and I am using BG one size pockets around the clock.  But after this 6-7 hour stretch she occasionally has a horrible diaper rash.  I have temporarily switched to using one disposable for that stretch until I figure something else out.  After reading the FAQs I think I will get a hemp doubler but everywhere I see issues about overnight it seems to do with leaking.  My problem is a diaper rash.  Is this a result of her skin being next to too much urine?  She has never had a leak but often has a fully saturated diaper after this stretch.  Also, I saw someone uses artsy fartsy foo foo and that they stock on the 5th and 20th but does anyone what time they stock?

 TIA for any suggestions!

Re: overnight rash

  • Yeah,  I would try a cream, like CJ's Butter for night. That way, there's a barrier between her and the wetness. You could also add more absorbency. BG have a stay dry inner, so if it's not completely saturated, then she should feel more dry. (by adding the extra insert)
