Braves Game - Tips

Hi guys. We are taking the kids (3 1/2 yr old and 1 yr old) to the Braves game. Any pointers? We will be sitting behind the home plate. Also, do you think I should take the stroller? TIA!

Re: Braves Game - Tips

  • We've only been once when Brady had just turned 1.  We did take our small umbrella stroller and since the game wasn't crowded it was easy to find a place to put it.  I don't really have any tips other than not to expect the 1 year old to sit still.  :)

Are you going to a day game or night game?  Day games will be pretty hot this time of year so you may want to check to see if you'll be under shade... if you're low behind home plate them I'm sure you're not in shade, though.

    Have fun!

  • Our ILs have season tickets, so we go fairly often.  We've never taken the stroller, we just take turns carrying Caroline or making her walk.  It might be different w/2 kids though.

You are allowed to bring in your own food, so we always at least pack Caroline a PB&J and plenty of snacks and drinks.  Plus, we usually bring our own water in as well.  Sometimes we'll stop and pick up publix subs instead of buying the overpriced food there - of course sometimes we really just want hot dogs though ;-)

Tooner Field is fun, but it can get crazy if it is a crowded game.  Caroline really likes to just walk around though.  Once we walked all the way around the stadium with her, lol.

If you go to a day game be sure to bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.

Oh and just to warn you, William may not be heavy enough to keep the seat down.  The first time we took Caroline we sat her in the chair and it folded up on her, lol.  So now we just keep a hand or a leg to help her weight it down.

  • You can take in food and drinks, even a cooler with soft sides. Just no glass. It's honestly so worth it so you aren't making a ton of trips to the snack places not to mention the food is eh at Turner.

Sunscreen and hats, plenty of cold water. Those are great seats but, full sun. Have fun! Can't wait to see pictures. Be sure to go all the way upstairs, under the huge coke bottle is the base they can run. :)

  • We've taken both kids a few times.  It does get really hot, so be sure to have hats, sunscreen and water/cold drinks.  We have usually taken Ava in the umbrella stroller cause there is a lot of walking from the car in/out of the stadium and I have carried Katelyn in my Ergo carrier.  We tend to take shifts of sitting in the seats and then going up to the covered/shaded area where the concessions are, since the kids usually last about 30-45 min intervals.
