Hey ladies,
As a therapist, I have been invited to facilitate a support/education group for new moms at a local birthing center - since I am also a new mom, I find this especially exciting to get to do this! I will definitely be asking those ladies what they would like to talk about, but I also wanted to come in with a bunch of ideas. Tell me what you have had a hard time adjusting to or what you wish you had known prior to having LO (i.e., for me I did not realize I would need to schedule my exercise and when to wash my hair! Since LO only takes very short naps, I had to enlist DH's help). The group will definitely include information on "baby blues" versus postpartum depression/anxiety/psychosis, but any other suggestions for topics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The biggest adjustment for me was feeling like I would never have my life back. My freedom & independence was gone and it was overwhelming. That, and the isolation. Oh - and who knew how hard breastfeeding was gonna be!?!
