Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week.
List 2 ups and 2 downs for the week.
QOTW: Since this is the first week, how about a little GTKY? Introduce yourself. What do you do? What's your work schedule like? What kind of child care option do you use (if any)?
Re: **Working Moms Check-in**
Happy Friday indeed!!! What a week, phew!
Up #1 - LO was baptized Sunday, Up #2 - I get out and home early today
Down #1 - I only saw him Wednesday for 2hrs, Down #2 - I didn't get to see him this morning
I work as an RT/RPSGT (sleep technologist) for a sleep center. I normally work 9-5:30pm four days a week and then Fridays I work 7-3:30pm. I don't ususally get home before 6pm, so I only get a few hours with LO before it's bedtime, and some nights I get home later and so I see him less.
I'm luck in that my Mom can watch Peter for us. It's nice to know he's getting one on one attention all day like I would give him if I were there.
Hi I'm vflipo! I'm 23, DH is almost 30. We've been married for 3.5 years (yes, I got married young). We both work for the same company. He works at a stationary location as a sales supervisor. I travel to different locations in the area merchandising the stores. I have the dream retail schedule, M-F (or sometimes M-Th when I'm lucky) 8-4:30, sometimes I go in at 6 or 7, it just depends on the store. We use a daycare center. When I first went back to work my sister watched DD for the few hours our schedules overlapped. Then she decided she couldn't handle my sweet angel and her 3 year old, so we starting using a center. We love it now that she's there! They can't quit on us, and they take such good care of her. She loves it there. She's the only girl in her class, so they all love that she's there.

My boobies belong to cour10e
Up 1: Went to doctor for LO and can start back dairy slowly
Up 2: DD started rolling from back to front
Down 1: 4 month wakeful period...need I say more
Down 2: DD rolling over and having trouble sleeping
I'm amyk927 (Amy)...I'm 33 yo as is my husband and DD is our first, aside from our two furry children. I'm a doctor (Internist) and do primarily primary care so my hours are usually 8-6ish. My husband is currently a SAHD which seems to be working okay for me.
Yay for Friday!
I work for a large moving company in the military dept. I work directly with the military and service members during the move. I work 8-5 and Lucas stays with my mother in law who used to work at a daycare.
TGIF!!
Up #1: Colin STTN 4 times (if I'm remembering correctly) this week!
Up #2: We fed him pear puree from a spoon last night and he loved it!
Down #1: DH's grandma is in the hospital, and basically in her last days. It's been pretty hard on the whole family.
Down #2: Because of H's grandma's hospitalization, Colin has had to stay with our backup sitter a lot more. I like her, but she isn't MIL (who usually watches him) and isn't quite as attentive. Yesterday when I picked him up, he was in an exersaucer crying.
GTKY: I work at the University of South Carolina, at the technology help desk. I take calls from staff & students and distribute software as well. I commute about 45 minutes to and from work each day, and MIL watches Colin 50 hours/week for us most of the time (for free, praise the Lord!). We do have a backup sitter though, for the days MIL can't watch him.
Hey all I am nominomi and I work as a Building Manager at an airport making sure the warehouse runs smoothly and is well stocked. I am 30 years old, and my mom watches my 3 kids while I work.
A Frog, A Monkey and a Ladybug
Up 1- H has STTN twice this week!
Up 2- H has been super happy in the evenings and we have had a really good time playing with her. Plus DH has been picking up the slack and doing an equal amount of housework this week.
Down 1- I found out I have to travel in a week for 3 days and I really bummed about being away from Hannah.
Down 2- Our yard is a mess. We haven't had the time to plant flowers and garden like we have in the past. I guess this is what we will do this weekend.
GTKY- I am 30 yrs and work for a telecommunications company in Colorado. DH is 35 and works for the same company. We have a nanny that comes to our house to watch DD. This week and next she is on vacation and my parents are watching her during the day.
Up#1 I didn't have to work a lot this week. Up#2 DD now had a cow print diaper
Down #1 I have to work all weekend Down #2 DD has been having some serious tummy issues all week.
I am Ava and I work at a Lazer tag arena (hence the weekend working crap) part time. Usually I work one or two weeknights at least, then the weekend. Right now I have H watch DD while I'm away and vice versa, but once I go back to school this fall I get to find some daycare 2 days a week. blaaaa
Up #1, DD had her 4-mo. checkup and is a healthy girl. (She's also a big girl - 96th %ile for weight and 95th %ile for height.) Up #2, DH and I closed on the sale of a vacant lot we had purchased to build a house on. (And we ended up buying an existing house last month.) Just a few more weeks until we close on the sale of our old house.
Down #1, This is my "long week." Down #2, I feel like I haven't had a break in forever between working, moving, taking care of an almost-2 year old and an infant, and everything else (errands, laundry, housecleaning, etc.).
I'm Karen and I'm 28 years old (actually I'll be 29 next week). I work in Human Resources as a Compensation Analyst (I administer the company's pay programs) for a health system. I work 7a - 4:15p 9 days per pay period (I have every-other Friday off). DH does drop-off and I do pick-up. We send the kids to in-home DC M-TH - the woman goes to our church and she is fabulous and so affordable. My parents are both retired and they do daycare at our house on Fridays, which is fantastic. I'm so glad the kids get at least one day a week with their grandma and grandpa.
Ups: 1. DD slept well for the most part this week. 2. She handled her 4 month shots like a pro on Wed.
Downs: 1. I picked her up from d/c and she was in the swing crying. First time I've seen her crying there. My heart broke. 2. Work has been a little frustrating this week. Hoping things get back on track next week.
I'm Sara... 28 yrs old. DD is our 1st. I am a physical therapist in an outpatient setting (private practice). I love my job. I work 8 to 5, Mon thru Thurs. I'm glad to have a reduced schedule (32 hrs) b/c with commuting 40 min each way, I still feel like I'm away from DD too much!
ETA: DD is in a daycare center Mon through Thurs.
up # 1 - Tru giggled for the first time this week! He's only done it twice since but all 3 times were at me.
up # 2 - daycare reported that yesterday was Tru's "Best day yet" - which was so good to hear b/c he had some pretty bad days last week.
down # 1 - Tru caught a cold (runny nose/cough) at daycare last week and was miserable all weekend - he had a fever on Sunday and BARELY slept Sunday night. It was a rough start to the work week.
down # 2 - I caught his cold and was pretty miserable at the start of the week as well, which didn't bode well w/ sleep deprivation...
GTKY - I am ozzy8182007, I am 27 yrs old and Tru is our first baby. My husband is 28 and we have been married for almost 4 yrs. I work as an Infant Mental Health Specialist for low income families. I work 30 hrs per week and am able to be very flexible with my hours which is great. Tru goes to daycare in a center four days a week. So far we are REALLY happy with the center and staff.
i am juliana, i am a manager at a photography studio. I work tue-thurs 10-2, fri 10-5 and sat 9-2. We have a friend watch our LO two days a week my MIL and my Aunt one day and daddy on Sat.
2 ups and downs.... gotta go will edit later:)
Up #1 I got an extra day off with LO this week because my nanny was on vacation, and my friend was sick.
Up #2 LO nursed for 3 days straight without fighting me on it so I didnt need to pump all day! (LO has developed bottle preference since I went back to work a month ago, ugh) Oh & LO has successfully transitioned to STTN in the pack n play from STTN in his RNP, next step is his own room in his crib eeep!
Down #1 I have a cold and I cant breath im so stuffy
Down #2 We are super broke right now from all our medical bills and my $1,200 cobra insurance payment this week that we can't shop/do anything that costs money until mid july.
GTKY- I am 29 and live in San Diego CA, my husband is 31 and next month we have been together for 10 years but married for 2. I work 50 hours a week as a retail store manager/buyer for a clothing store chain. I hate the hours, 2 days a week I have to "close"which means I am gone from 12pm-10pm and 3 days a week I "open" so I am gone from 8:30am-7pm. Its really stressful and I hate being away from LO for 10+ hours a day but I carry the health insurance for the family and we cant afford to live off 1 income yet and I make the higher salary. My husband is a tech for a big bicycle pedal company. London is our first LO and we hope to have one more in a year or two, once we can afford to live off one income when we get bills paid down. One of our friends who has a 3 year old son also is the nanny for London 4 days a week in her home, she is great and London loves her and he gets one on one attention. So for now that works for our situation, soon she will be having another LO so we will need to find a new nanny or daycare center, or hopefully I can resign by then.
I am 23 and have been married to MH(26) for 2 years, together 7. I am a real estate associate. I recieved my license back in 2009 but I put it on ice when DS came and I work as the background person with another real estate agent. Because of working in real estate I am able to work from home and make my own schedule, which is super nice. Although, sometimes I do miss working out of the home and just getting away. MH works nights so he watched DS during the day until 4pm and then I pretty much just work whenever I can after that point if DS will allow me. Eventually when he gets older we will put him in daycare maybe once a week just to have interaction with other children since there are not a lot of mom groups around here(not that MH would even want to go to a mom group, lol).
((hugs)) I'm so sorry to hear about your H's grandma. And the not as good caretaker.

2 ups: LO is thisclose to rolling! I put her down tonight and she cried for 3 minutes (while I was there) and then has been asleep for nearly 2 hours.
2 downs: girlfriend is not sleeping!!! And my 2 year old has turned into the spawn of Satan this week
I'm Erin and I'm 33. I'm not a current working mom. I'm a teacher on summer break and I'm scared sh!tless to be home all summer with both girls. I teach 8th grade socail studies at a Quaker school, which I love. Schedule usually 7:30-4:30, so I get home at a reasonable hour. My older DD goes to my school; DD2 was at home with mom and MIL for the last 2 months but will be going to a daycare center in September.
I've been meaning to reply to this since Friday!
Up 1: DD is finally starting to have good naps. She's been napping well with the nanny for the past few weeks but on the weekends still giving me a hard time. But this weekend she's been much better. I can't really complain, however, as she's been sleeping 8-11 hrs at night since 7 weeks, with only maybe a handful of exceptions.
Up 2: 4-month checkup this week went well. We'd had weekly weight checks for the first 2 months but I hadn't been to the pedi since her 2-mo appt so I was nervous that she hadn't gained enough weight but she had. Plus the dr commented on how alert and expressive she is, which made me feel good
Down 1: DD hasn't pooped since Weds. I feel so bad for her as she's clearly uncomfortable because of it.
Down 2: Tomorrow is likely to be stressful at work so I'll probably have a hard time sleeping tonight.
I'm Abby and I'm 33 (so is DH). I work in fashion design. My schedule used to be 9-6:30 or 7 before DD but I've cut back a little to 9:15ish to 5:30ish. We have a nanny who comes to our apt to take care of DD from 8:30-6:30 and she's fantastic. I interviewed 14(!) people before finding the right one. DH works much longer hours (about 7:30-9:30) and travels a fair amount so we've been talking a lot lately about me leaving the corporate world for at least a few years to work freelance for more flexibility. But I really like my job so it's a very tough decision. DH would love to be the one to stay home but he's really the breadwinner so there's no option for him to leave his job.
