SPD and c-section?

Is there anyone who has/had SPD and ended up with a c-section? How was your recovery? How did you deal with the healing and pain of both?

I lost it tonight when I couldn't get off the couch again to go to the bathroom. I seriously am not sure how much longer I can deal with this and still be sane.

Re: SPD and c-section?

  • I didn't have a c section but had spd pain throughout pregnancy and after delivery. I have been to the chiropractor 3 times and I'm almost completely back to normal and I can get up and down from the couch, out of bed, and lay on my side in bed. Those were all things I had a very hard time doing before I delivered. Oh and before I went to the chiropractor I felt a little bit better each day after delivery. I hope you feel better soon!!

  • Although my dr never agreed that I had spd I know for a fact that that is what I had that caused me so much pain. I ended up having to have a c-section because of breech presentation (which I believe was caused by me having spd). It has been 2wks and my healing has been pretty good. I do get sharp shooting pains across my incision and the lower part of my stomach hurts, it hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part was over by the time I came home from the hospital. Using the stairs in my house was painful for the first few days but now it doesn't really bother me. I do still suffer from some of the spd pain though. I have thought about seeing a chiropractor to help it but since my dr never diagnosed me with spd I'm not sure if I can see the chiropractor for it. I would like to have another baby (this was my second) but I'm very afraid I'll suffer from spd again and have another breech baby and end up with yet another c-section.
