Watermarks

I don't have any fancy photo editing software, but I want to watermark my images of my products for my Diamonds & Dog Tags facebook page.

Should I just try to create a small logo to put on?  Ideally the image will still be clearly visible as I am "advertising" the product with the photo.  I like how some watermarks are words across the image, but that are transparent.

Any advice?  TIA!

So I looked at Picasa 3 from Google - https://picasa.google.com/ and you can apply text over the picture and make it as transparent as you want. :-) It's free to download and actually a really good program for cataloging your photos.
