Rapid heartbeat with dizziness and nausea

I'm 19 weeks and 2 days with my first and have had a rapid heartbeat with dizziness and nausea since I woke up. I feel like i've ran a marathon when i've just been home all day. Anyone else experiencing this or any ideas to what's going on?? Any reason for concern and should I call the doctor??

I would call the doctor to be safe. I think those symptoms need to be checked out for sure. Not to alarm you, but they can be indicators of something serious going on. It is likely nothing to worry about, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

I had lots of heart palpatations and dizziness early in the pregnancy. I had a bunch of heart scans, urinalysis and other tests to rule out a ton of things. Everything is fine, but I feel better knowing that than taking a chance.

  • I am 21 weeks and for the last week or so have been feeling a pressure in my nethers then light headed and dizzy, then nausea, then headache. Several times a day. But the whole process only lasts a couple min each time it happens, except the headache which can last an hour or so. Dr said its bouts of low blood pressure but you should ask yours to be safe. Especially if the heart rate and dizziness last more than a couple min

  • I've been having the same issue for a few days now. It's probably my blood pressure. Sometimes after I eat I get really dizzy and the nausea kicks in. I have an appointment tomorrow and will be bringing it up.

I had bouts of the same thing. I asked my OB at a regular appointment and she said it sounds like blood pressure issues or low blood sugar. She didn't seem overly concerned, just advised me to eat small snacks regularly and avoid changing positions too fast. It could be other things though so I always recommend mentioning it.

  • While we can't diagnose you, it certainly sounds blood pressure related.  I would most certainly give your doctor a call as soon as possible-anything that isn't normal for you should be taken up with a doc, and this clearly is not "normal".
