When did you first introduce the potty?

I know that it will be months and months (if not years) before F is potty trained, but when did you introduce a potty chair, even if it was just for sitting on and not actually practicing on?

I bought one that was dirt cheap on sale around 18 months.  He didn't take interest in it until ~21 mos.  We just left it out in our master bathroom where there was plenty of space.

Ethan was interested around the time he turned 2, and we bought the Fisher Price froggy potty, kept one in the living room and one upstairs.

Oh, and ditto the froggie potty if you're going to buy an actual chair and not the inserts for the toilet.  It's cheap and great for boys!

18 months, for play.  She didn't really try until around 30 months, but she potty trained in 2 weeks time.  I suggest getting a potty with a padded seat.  We have a cheapie with a plastic seat, and a nicer padded seat potty, and DD prefers the padded seat, hands down.  I also bought a padded insert for the regular toilets, and she loves those more than the toddler potties.  So much that the inserts are our go to 90% of the time.  Good luck.

Ava was 2 when we introduced it, but she wasn't interested at that time and we didn't force it.  She would sit, sometimes pee on it, etc. but she was 2.5 before she was fully PT.  Charlotte just turned 2 and has been sitting on the potty and peeing on it since 16 mos. but obviously she is a second child and has been watching her big sister.  Also, even though she has been using the potty for awhile, she is just now starting to wear underwear.

It has been here for a long time but she didn't even look at it until recently. She isn't really interested yet but has told us a few times she had to go potty.

Around 16-18 months. Since then, we've remained completely relaxed with it. J uses the potty a few times/day, right now (all prompted by us, not him, at this point). We might try actual potty training beginning of August...just give it a go, since DH is home.
