Trying to Get Pregnant

How many of you believe there is

any truth to "feeling ovulation".. is it right up there with feeling the sperm and egg meeting?..  I may be reaching but.. my timing is not soo good but I am holding out that my egg was still fertilize-able when I had sex the morning of my temp rise..  I was sitting on my bed around 10:30 and I felt a dull burst of pain on my left side that lasted a minute or so.. several hours before this I had alot of EWCM.. so I felt pretty confident that I had just ovulated..

Re: How many of you believe there is

  • O pains are real, I never really had them, but they happen. I think there are some GP'ers on here that record them on their charts. There is a German sounding word for them..but I can't remember what it is...

Me too. Although alot of people say they can feel it.

  • I am a nonbeliever, but only because any time I get a cramp I think it could be any number of things.  For all I know I get O pains every month and have no idea that is what it is.
  • Yes, I can feel ovulation.  I talked to the RE about it when I saw him on 12/24 and he said that it is definitely possible to feel ovulation, but that not all people do.  I told him that I thought I was getting ready to ovulate and when he did the exam, he confirmed that I was very close.  Mine isn't so much a burst of pain, but more like a low-level cramp that I have throughout the day.  It feels the same each month, so once you've gotten them, you know what you're looking for.

  • Im a believer. I always get the side cramping right around O time

  • I do feel it most cycles, but it's not a consistent O predictor, because I've felt it before O, after O, and sometimes both.

  • When i had long cycles, I had random pains all of the time and wondered if they were O pain, but it never corresponded with a temp shift.

Since delivering, I had O pain cramps during both of my charted cycles that corresponded with the day before my temp shift.

    So I'm sort of undecided.

  • I'm pretty sure I felt it last cycle, but I'm still not 100% convinced.

  • I sort of do - frankly I have a hernia on my right side - so it could technically be either or the ovulation irritating the hernia. I only feel it on my right side and on various months - so who knows.

I still love visualising implantation pain - now that one I associate with every pain I have near my uterus from 4dpo and on. It's a sad sight.

    Aha!

  • I'm a believer.  For a few hours the day I ovulate, I have a mild burning feeling low in my abdomen.  I told my mom about this and she told me that she could always tell whenever she ovulated, as well.  She would often get a confirmation backache after O.  Smile

But when I was on injectibles & triggering and releasing like 5 eggs, then Boy did I ever feel them then.   Like doubled over/couldn't hardly walk type pain.

  • I get some major pain and bloating about 14 days into my cycle. For the first month, I was worried, so I called my doc and she said it could be O pain. Second cycle 14 days in I got the bloating and the pain, lasts about 24 hours for me.

  • I believe. It doesn't happen every cycle, but I do feel O pain.

This cycle for example, I went out with friends last Monday night. I had EWCM leading up, but thought it was too early for me to O. We go to the movies and during that time my lower pelvic area just felt sensitive and then I had sharp pains on only my left side.
Then the next day, all EWCM was gone and sure enough FF confirmed an early O date of CD12.

  • I don't know why this is, but since my first loss I have had ovulation pains every cycle (excluding when I was pregnant, of course). It's a sharp, pinching pain on one side, low. I never, ever had them before then.

And before you ask, no, I don't chart or use OPKs. It just aligns within a day or two of when I "should" be ovulating.

Gas is, of course, always another option.

  • I am a believer.  The feeling was a very different feeling than I had had before.  It felt nothing like cramps, it felt like a tugging sensation, not quite painful, just uncomfortable.  At my ultrasound, they thought ovulation happened on the side I thought I had ovulation pain.  Of course, they (and I) had a 50/50 chance of being right, so who is really to say?

  • I have O pains almost every month.  I get sharp almost pulsating cramps on my left side almost every time.  As for the rest of the stuff, I'm not so sure I believe.  But I do get the cramps!

  • I am a believer.  I get them every month and they have corresponded with my temp shift and my OPKs.  It's different than AF cramping or gas pains.  For me it feels like someone is pinching me inside.  It's not a terrible pain but just enough that it's noticeable.  It usually lasts for a few hours off and on.  They're usually on my right side but I've occasionally had them on my left side.
