We weren't planning on it but my mom really wants some so she's offered to pay- sometime between 1-2 months old. My brother and his wife got them done by Canadian Baby and my mom wants them to do ours too- unfortunately they don't come to my small city often so we have to wait and see when they are coming.
My husband has a really good DSLR camera and we've already taken more than 200 pics of him.
We have a friend who is a professional photographer and as a gift, did LO's picts at 8 days old (gave us the CD with all the edited proofs for printing our own pictures).
We are also having more pictures taken today for IL's 50th wedding anniversary, the 'kids' all booked a photog for a family photo shoot, and part of the package is each family having individual family & child shots done as well.
After two photo shoots in 3 weeks, it'll probably be awhile!
We did newborns, will do 6 month and 1 year, and then will do them yearly.
This is pretty much what we've done with my DS and same goes for this little girl. It's kind of nice, because her and her brother are almost 6 months apart, so when we do her 6 month shots, we'll take his 3 year ones.

LOL it is convenient that way, isn't it?
We are getting ours taken today. Not so much professional, just a friend with a fancy camera (she is going for the momtographer thing). Good photographers are hard to find around here.

We missed doing newborn shoots because the weather was too crappy to take LO anywhere. We will probably have them done at six months and a year. I do take a lot of pics with my digital camera.

We did them in the hospital, then we will do them in the early Fall (4 months), then probably not again until almost 1 year (I like outdoor pro pics the best and we do them as a family).
Photographers came into our hospital room to do newborn pictures for us and we bought the CD with all the rights. We will probably be doing 6 month pictures because it will be Christmas time
I'm still undecided as to whether I'm willing to pay someone to do them for us. I have a very nice DSLR and am pretty comfortable with my ability to take them on my own. The only problem with that is I won't be in any of them. That said, I took "newborn" pics earlier this week and will probably do a combo 6 month/Christmas session, then of course one year. At some point we may do a family shoot before DH deploys again (maybe we'll do that for the 6 month/Christmas thing).
I wanted to do newborns around 10 days old but I had 2 photogs cancel. I wanted to do pics around 1 month but DH had tonsillitis and we were going to do family ones so we cancelled those. I guess I'll get some before 3 months.
I was planning on doing newborn photos, but then I was messing around taking pictures on my own and they turned out really well (see siggy) so I said forget it- I'm not spending so much money.
We'll probably do something closer to Christmas or in the fall maybe when we're back home with the photog who did our wedding photos b/c I doubt I can be as lucky with taking more photos on my own.

Newborn we paid an arm and leg for.
6 months will be close to Christmas so we'll probably do something then at like sears or something.
Then at a year old, again at sears or something.
