dulcolax or colace?

my dr. told me I could take one of these to help with this lovely side effect of zophran-) which one is less painful?

Thanks!

Re: dulcolax or colace?

  • I haven't tried dulcolax, but the colace (even the max dosage) didn't do much to help me out.  If Zofran weren't such a lifesaver, I'd be cursing it every day.

  • I tried colace but I'm not convinced it really helped.  Eating peaches, pears, and watermelon actually seemed to work better.

  • thanks ladies-that's a cruel side effect for nausea medication...seriously!  i'll try the peaches and watermelon too-)
  • Colace didn't do a thing for me. I used to take miralax pre-preg but it's not on my dr. list. I take Phillips milk of magnesia. It's been a lifesaver. It doesn't hurt but sometimes it's urgent! Lol

  • i tried duclcolax wed and it worked wonders.  i took it in the evening and was woken up by the urge to go.   i would suggest taking it as close to bedtime as you can, or during the day if you know you will be near a bathroom six to eight hours later.  this was my first time taking this type of medication, so i was concerned with how long it would last.  it was just enough to do the job.

sorry for all the lower case, my phone makes it difficult to reply on the boards.
