I'm a little late, but here is my beautiful baby girl! She was born on 6/2 at 6:27pm weighing 8lb 2oz and measuring 19in long!
I had a 2 day induciton due to pre-e symptoms. The mesoprostol caused a lot of contractions, but I made almost no progress. I still made no progress on the pitocin until I got a shot of some pain meds. I ended up going from 1cm to 4cm really quickly and my water broke on its own There was a ton of meconium in the water, so they were a little worried. I then chose to get an epi, jumping from 4cm to 7cm almost instantly. It took a few hours to fully dilate from there. She was showing distress if I laid on either side, so I pretty much sat up the whole time. When I got to 10, she was still high, so the nurses had me try my side again. Her heart rate dropped, so they had me sit up again, but she didn't recover. They moved me to my hands and knees (which was quite difficult since my right leg was totally numb from the epi) and her heart rate returned to normal. The nurse had me push a few times to try to move her down. She ended up moving down really quickly and we called for the doctor. He was finishing up a delivery in the next room, but she was ready to come out. After the doctor got there, she pretty much just shot out. I pushed for MAYBE 5 minutes. They took her right and I wasn't able to get a good look at her or hold her for about a half hour because of the meconium and her being in destress for so long. I didn't want to let her go once I got her though. She was the most precious thing I had ever seen.
