Rash and Antibiotics?

So Wy is being treated for strep right now and has since broken out in a rash (since last night) that is just little red bumps like a diaper rash (with no red on the skin though, just bumps). He's got an appointment with the doctor this afternoon, but curious if anyone else has had a similar reaction to antibiotics? My mom swears that's all it is probably, but always best to get it looked at. Anyone else have any ideas? Doesn't seem to bother him...not itchy, i can poke them and it doesn't seem to phase him so it's obviuosly not painful....just a reaction??

Hmm - could be a few things.  Ella has always broke out with a rash when she has strep throat or it could be an allergic reaction to the antibiotics.

YES!! My DD broke out in an absolutely HORRIBLE rash when she was on antibiotics for strep. She broke out on the 8th day of the antibiotics and it was awful, her lips were swollen and puffy, she has a rash all over her legs, arms and belly. The doctor said to take her off of the antibiotic (amoxicillin) and then it actually got worse before it got better. Good thing is it did not seem to bother her, but I will never let her have amoxicillin again. Google amoxicillin rash and see if it looks like your child's rash. Good luck!
