I am on the fence with whether or not we will really need a double stroller. I have friends with two little ones who tell me they don't have one and don't need one-- if they go to a store, both kids are in the car or one walks. If they do need a stroller, it's usually when both parents are home and both parents can push a single. I don't know what to do, but I don't want to spend a million dollars either. I'm considering the Baby Jogger City Mini double (last year's version on sale right now), but if I don't really need it, I don't want to waste the money. Thoughts? I am mostly a SAHM, so I will be the one juggling the kids most of the time.
Re: Do I really need a double stroller?
#2 was born on 11/23, and by mid-December I was going nuts w/o a double stroller. I don't always use it; sometimes I wear #2 and put #1 in the single stroller, and at the grocery store I wear #2 and have #1 ride in the cart. But I am very glad to have my double for when I want it. I love having a double for trips to the mall or library, or on the boardwalk at the beach, walking the track for exercise, etc. I don't always want to walk as slow as #1 does, and if she gets tired I want her to have a place to sit. Also, I don't always let #1 walk - it's easier to have both kiddos in the stroller than have to keep an eye on #1 while she walks.
