Food Allergy

results for LO #2 back and a ?

Mia was negative for all of the allergens they did blood work for.  I am so mixed on this (as I posted about last week).  Obviously, I am filled with relief, but I am also sad that Owen is going this road on his own.  We will feed them the same foods, with only a few exceptions.

Question.  We have her 1 year appt next week so I will talk to the doctor then, but have you heard of anyone with all negative results end up having an allergy?  I know you can develop an allergy at any time, but I am wondering how accurate this testing is.  For Owen, it flagged all over the place so we did the skin testing.

  • First of all, congrats! and he is not going this road on his own. Everyone that loves him is dealing with it too.. he's just the one that has to deal with consequences. But his sister will probably be the most compassionate and will feel it just as much as her big brother (in a non direct way). But i know how you feel since i'm pregnant and have the same feelings.

I think it all depends on what you have introduced.  My son was negative to soy and as soon as we introduced tofu he became allergic.

    good luck

Interesting.  She has never had eggs or dairy except for minute amounts in my diet through bfing.  She hasn't had nuts, but we obviously won't be giving those to her for many reasons.

Hmmm.  Thanks.  That isn't amazing, but could be worse.  Sorry to see you over here on this board!

Thanks for that.  I appreciate it so much.  My sister also pointed out that while it seems like they will be little together forever, they won't and so it is nice for her when she is older and on her own.
