Belly Bandit vs. generic postpartum support belt

Is the Belly Bandit really worth the money?  It's $65, and Motherhood Maternity makes a postpartum support belt that's less than $30 - is the Belly Bandit any better?  It sounds from reviews like you need to buy the Belly Bandit in a few sizes as you shrink too - and multiple $65 undergarments sounds like a lot to spend!

Also, are there any versions that'll help to shrink both your stomach and hips, or do you have to choose one or the other?

Thanks!

I read a ton of reviews online before buying the Belly Bandit (cause you are right, it's a lot of money) and everything I read said the Motherhood Maternity one doesn't work very well.  There are some other inexpensive options like the generic core exercise belts and I think Target carries one that work better than MM.

  • In my experience anything that just wraps around my belly ends up rolling up or down (or both) after about a week or two's worth of wear, and yes the MM one is probably the wost of them.  My new "one two punch" is the Bellefit and the shrinx hips. Using the bellefit alone is great, but I really need the hip support due to a bad lower back/spinal issue.  They are both pricey, but (to me) worth getting my pre pregnancy body back!

I have both the belly bandit and shrinx hips belt. I definitely notice a difference each day. The negatives: the belly bandit slides up if you sit down...along with the shrinx hips. It's really annoying, but I'm willing to deal with it. Also...you have to take the shrinx hips off each time you go to bathroom...You also need help putting the belly bandit on in order to make it as tight as possible. It stinks if you are home alone during the day like myself therefore I can only wear it at night.

  • a woman I work with told me to just invest in some really small girdle type underwear. that's what the old school moms did!

... she also told me to sleep with a brick on my stomach for the first 6 weeks, but that's proooobably not going to happen.

  • I bought a generic one, I think it's Gabriella or something like that.  I didn't look up reviews or anything.  I'm hoping it's just as good, it was about half the price of the Bandit.  Both my mom and sister shrank back down pretty close to normal and I'm hoping this will give me that extra boost!
