We have thick/high baseboards on the left side of the doorway, and a banister on the other. To further complicate things, the banister is square at the bottom and round at the top. So on each side of the doorway, the only way we can think of to level it, is to use shims. Has anyone done this? How's it holding up?
Re: installing baby gate on baseboard & banister - use shims?
Our banisters are like that as well and we used the Kidco Y Spindle for our banisters. It works great...doesn't budge. The bottom of our banister is just wide enough to accomodate the pressure mount disks and we used the Y Spindle on top.
