Re: How about we "introduce" ourselves...

  • DD will be 3 in July and has an egg sensitivity and a tree nut allergy (so we're fully nut and peanut free).

  • So far my 2 little ones have no known food allergies. As for me, I am Top-8 free (allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, seafood, wheat, eggs, dairy, and soy) as well as allergic to green beans, black beans, and sorghum. I also have severe OAS (oral allergy syndrome) and cannot consume any fruits or vegetables raw.

What a great board!  My youngest is gluten intolerant.  We haven't done any official testing, but my FIL has Celiac's and my MIL and SIL are intolerant.  My boys both had/have severe reflux and after talking with my in-laws and other reflux mommas, I decided to give a gluten free diet a try.  We've been doing it for almost a month and I'm seeing a big difference already.  We also stay away from dairy.  Again, no official testing done, but we see a big difference in his reflux when I stay off it (he's BF).

    Married to J since 5/05, Mommy to T (10/08), L (08/10) and C (02/13) who was born at home.

  • DD is allergic to tree nuts, but we've been instructed to avoid all nuts and shellfish.  We did a skin test at 6 months and RAST at 12 months.  Lately she's been reacting to strawberry products, so I'm wondering if she has developed an allergy to that as well.  It was never tested.
She was also dairy/soy/wheat/corn intolerant for most of her first year.  She is fine with these, now, but I dread doing this diet for number 2 in a few weeks, need be.  It can be so depressing, but worth it at the same time.  Happy to have this board!

  • DD is 4 and is allergic to eggs - she had hives all over her body after eating something with eggs in it.  We are hoping that her IgE levels will keep falling and we can do a food challenge next year.

My twin sons are 9 months and they are allergic to cow's milk.  I found out when they took formula for the first time.  I am still nursing and on a milk elimination diet which is hard since i love dairy.  Our allergist is hopeful that they will outgrow this allergy.
