AIO and Pockets Washing

I understand that all in ones are just like dispoables, wear it once and the whole thing goes into the diaper pail.  What about pockets though?  Do you just take out the pocket and let the diaper dry and re use it again?

Re: AIO and Pockets Washing

  • No, all components of pockets go in the wash too.  The pocket is the shell of the diaper, which is sewn to an inner piece of material, with an opening on one or both ends (creating the pocket).  The insert goes inside.  So your baby pees and poos on the pocket and the insert.

  • Generally speaking, only covers get used, allowed to airdry, and re-used before washing.  You can re-use PUL or wool covers if they only get pee on them, though it's best to allow them to fully dry before putting them back OTB. If anything gets poop on it, you want to wash it.  Fleece needs to be washed after every use, regardless of whether the baby peed or pooped.  Anything else where the baby is peeing directly onto a component of the diaper should be washed before being used again.
