My story: I have had 4 IUI?s, each time I felt as if I had not O?d 36-48 hours after triggering. I O?d more about 3 -4 days after I was suppose to O. I called my dr?s office 2 or 3 times telling them this. The explanation was that the Overdril works and I am O?ing. 2 of the IUI?s my estrogen was too low.
Well come to find out, I had high prolactin levels. Prolactin blocks estrogen. So if your estrogen is low ask the dr to check your prolactin levels. Low estrogen can be caused by many reasons but prolactin is one of them.
FYI, prolactin is a hormone created by the body to help you sleep and produce breast milk after giving birth.
Re: Do you think you are not ovulating when you trigger?
i have often wondered this, i know most everyone ovulates 36 hrs after trigger but I always still wondering, my doc does check progesterone, 7 days after trigger, 5 days after iui and it has confimed i O'ed.
INteresting you have high prolactin, I also had this checked twice and both time it was slightly elevated. How high was yours? Mine was 25 and 28 and i think they want it under 23 or 24.
