Low progesterone

My progesterone test came back very low, but it may have been done too early, since AF is taking longer than usual to show up this month. Maybe it was a non ovulatory month. Anyone had to take progesterone during TTC/pregnancy? how was that?

Boo.  I haven't had that problem.  But, I know a few people who swear by acupuncture during the luteal phase and the progesterone cream (and adding foods that tonify kidney Yang, like sea veggies, quinoa, parsley, spirulina, walnuts, wheat germ, yams, etc. -- all of them are high in B6)

  • Progesterone treatment is part of the protocol while you go through IF treatment. As I understand, you can do either daily injections or suppositories. I've done suppositories. It's messy, but it's better than a long shot in my bum (I'm afraid of needles). Messiness is controlled by a panty-liner, so no big whop. I had to stay on it through the first trimester.

I've taken two separate types, and I swear even though the formula is the same one exacerbated my morning sickness (while pregnant w/ S2). Maybe there was something in the suspension?

I also did the suppositories.  It wasn't too big of a deal.

I did the same for the last treatment cycle.

Yep. Suppositories for me too. There is some messy discharge, but much better than IM Progesterone in oil which was my alternative option which I would have done if my last IUI didn't work and I'd moved to IVF. A pantyliner takes fare of the mess.

Interesting.  I didn't have any Progesterone treatment while in IF treatment.

  • I had low progesterone and took suppositories every month from my O date until AF came.  When I got my BFP with N, I wasn't on any kind of care and immediately called my RE and got my progesterone refilled.  Good luck.  If you have any specific questions about it, I'm happy to share. (Bascially it was once a day - I did it at night cuz it's a little messy).
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I had low progesterone when TTC this baby. It turned out I didn't ovulate without help and I had to take Femara and hcg shot to get pregnant which then was very easy, luckily. I had to take progesterone suppositories during first tri. It was not a big deal and mostly a precaution, so I am glad I took it as it seems to have worked.
