31 weeks pregnant and...

1 cm dialated.

Yup.  I went to the doctor after all the contractions I have been having.  I have to double my medicine and they gave me shots to develop his lungs.  I also had an FFN test done.

So I go back tomorrow for steroid shot #2 and then start having weekly visits.

I don't get why my body loves to get pregnant but waits til the end to stop working right!  I mean, if it were up to my body both kids would have come around 30-32 weeks.

UGH.  So I have to try not to pick up anything and stay off my feet.  I have an 11 month old and we are moving.  There are boxes all over the apartment that we aren't going to unpack because we move into the new house June 10, but I want them at last out of the living room!

And I feel guilty watching my husband do all the work, packing, unpacking, cleaning up, etc.  I really feel huge amounts of guilt, but he keeps telling me to just sit down or lay down and relax.

Oh yeah, and no dirty deed, of course.  I swear once this kid gets here safely at 37 weeks my DH is sleeping in another room.  I think I can get pregnant via osmosis.

  • Try not to feel guilty-- while it might seem like you are just laying around remember how much hard work your body is doing in keeping your little guy safe and healthy! I had a really hard time letting go and letting other people help me/do EVERYTHING for me when I was on bedrest with DS but over time it got easier when I realized that my one and only job was to get the baby here safe.

The packing and unloading will get done eventually and while it might drive you nuts to look at-- you are so close to being done with your pregnancy, moving into your new house and lots of other fun stuff! Just know that in 6 months this will all be done and over with and you will be nice and settled. GL and fingers crossed that Calvin stays cookin! Keep us updated!

  • Oh no! So sorry to hear that you are going through this. I hope things get better and that your little guy stays put for a while longer. Definitely do not feel guilty! We moved when i was only about 2 months pregnant and I still didn't lift a box, DH painted everything by himself and did all of the work. You need to relax and keep your baby and yourself healthy!

  • Don't feed guilty - we moved in January when I was 7 months pregnant. I didn't do any part of it - not even the unpacking. Good thing too as Nolan would have probably come even earlier than he did!

Hang in there & keep that baby boy put!!
