NDCR: Dying Moby Wrap

I have a light pink moby I had for DD. I would like to reuse it for baby boy, but not in pink.  Do you think I could dye it? If so what dye do you recommend?

  • i don't see why you couldn't.  i only have experience w/rit dye.  i'd probably do the color remover thing first, and then dye it a darker color like navy blue.  that should work pretty well.

Colorwise I was thinking dark blue or dark purple. I haven't tried dying fabric though.

I've used the Rit dye and had decent results.

On a different note, I thought this post was going to be about a Moby Wrap falling apart and dying an awful death when I opened it  Wink

  • Just remember dark colors in the summer suck. I learned that the hard way with my olive Moby.

  • I found Moby's on CL.  Could you just sell your pink one and buy another one?  I have a blue one I might be willing to sell or trade.  LO is 22 lbs now, and I just can't deal with Moby anymore, but I just got the breathable version of the ergo to try.  My friend is having a girl...

I use Dylon dye to dye prefolds.  The DiaperSwappers ladies say it is much better than rit.
