TTC while husband is sick?

Hi all,

My husband and I are TTC this month. I've been testing on a strip for about a week now and have not ovulated yet. Unfortunately, my husband is sick with a cold, has a sinus infection and bronchitis for the past week. Will him being sick affect our chances of getting pregnant? Or should we just skip this month? I wanted to email my doc, but she is out of the office until the 16th and I can't seem to find the answers online.

I had a miscarriage back in March and am almost desperate to TTC again.  It'll be really hard if we have to wait another month, but I want to be safe.  Thanks so much in advance.

If DH was up to it, I'd still try. I'd just avoid kissing his mouth.

DH just had his appendix removed and a week later, we needed to start having sex if I was going to catch my O. We made it happen. Do whatcha gotta do!

Im in the same situation right now DH is just getting over a flare up with crohns I wont O til sometime around the 3rd week of May.......as I told him Team Baby is winning this playoof and moving onto the finals so tell Team Sickey to be prepared to go home!

Doctor told us it can reduce some sperm but it doesnt hurt or harm anything!!! GL

I agree with the PP's I would try if YH feels like he can muster the strength GL this month!!

I'm with others on this one, just don't kiss his mouth...DH was sick a couple cycles ago and really wouldn't have anything to do with TTC, but when I'm sick he's all over me- I just try not to breathe on him and won't let him kiss me lol

Good question!

My husband was taking medication for lyme's disease and I made him ask the doctor if it would effect our trying, and he said that our chances were the same. I obviously didn't get pregnant that month.  Good luck!

Thanks everyone!  That's a relief to know that we can go ahead and try this month.  And yes, I told him that if he is really feeling down he can just lie there!   He's a trooper though so I know we'll get through it ok.   Thanks again!
