not looking forward to newborn in the Iowa winter

I will be due this fall, so that means I will be traveling out and about with a newbie.  I know it's doable, but it just doesn't seem like a fun idea when I know how not fun it is without a baby to take around.

It's not so bad since they are in the carseat carrier anyway. My DD is a December baby and this LO is due in November they stay a lot warmer when you have them in the carrier... unless your LO is like DD and enjoys being cold and sticks their fingers out the blanket to cool off Hahaha.

Is your due date October 8th? If so mine is too! I am sooo not looking forward to another winter so I will be taking my baby to Florida for Christmas (thats where I am from and miss it so much).

It's not as bad as it sounds. Only thing that sucked when DD was first born was  she ended up getting RSV and we had ice storms at the same time so getting her into the doctor was tricky. Luckily though we live close to Mercy urgent care clinic.

A bit delayed, but here you go !  A carseat cover is a must (one of about 3 baby "musts" IMO). Get one with a furry inside and a face flap that can Velcro open.  You shouldn't use snowsuits, etc. as we all know, and using that made it so I didn't even need a blanket (DD#3 was born 12/2009, when we had 3, 6, 12 feet of snow at a time !).  I popped the seat in the car, tucked the face flap open, and away we went.  It was surprisingly much easier than I thought it would be !

On the upside, you can use the bad weather/new baby excuse to avoid going to functions you really don't want to attend !
