I have been reading Dr. Lukes book and a few resources online about preterm labor and now I am worrying over every little thing. The pelvic pressure they mean is that in the groan or pressure in the uterus. I feel pressure and each time I have to go and urinate so I am sure its the babys pushing on my bladder ( is that the same feeling they mean?) And I get a dull ache in my groan/public bone area that sometimes moves to my tail-bone..which I though was RLP. And can a contraction only tighten one side of the uterus? I think what I am feeling on just my right side, is a baby pushing forward since its not on my left side. I also have real mild ache in my back (on one side) that comes and goes and I think it has to do with my sleep position, and posture.I am well hydrated and these "symptoms" dont last.Once or twice a day (sometimes none at all) so my real question is...With preterm labor do these types of symptoms have to continue or be regularly reoccurring to be concerned about? or are these just normal issues in twin preg. to bring up with my OB. I have an appt on Thursday.
Re: Clarify Preterm labor
A lot of what you are describing sounds like normal aches and pains of carrying twins. I had intermittent pressure from about 23 weeks on. Twin pregnancy is hard on your body. I had a dull ache in my groin from the pelvic separation and just the weight of my son's head on my cervix. Back aches are pretty normal too. Having a full bladder can cause braxton hicks, that might be the pressure you're feeling. I peed like every 15-30 minutes from 20 weeks on. I had a lot of braxton hicks contractions starting at like 28 weeks. Mine were never painful, just tightening and pressure. My tailbone was pretty sore also.
If you are ever concerned I would call your OB. Its better to be safe than sorry and it will probably ease your mind a bit to hear its normal. More than likely its all just normal growing/pregnancy pains. If you notice the symptoms are consistent, rhythmic or not going away with rest and water, I'd definitely call your OB.
Good luck and congrats!!!

Sorry, firefox wasn't letting me post a reply.
I think you may be reading too much and over thinking what you are feeling. Talk to your doc if you're at all unsure, but these are the guidelines that my OB gave me:
For our obstetrical patients 20-35 weeks gestation.
Please call us immediately if any of the following occur:
If this sensation occurs 4 or more times in an hour, lie down, drink 16 ounces of fluid and continue to time the "contractions". If 4 or more contractions continue in the 2nd hour, call our office and speak to the "Doctor On Call".

Thanks for the replies. I thought I was over-reacting. None of my symptoms happen often (except the pressure/tightness I feel when I have to pee-I think I am over doing it with the water a bit). I will cut back on a few glasses of water tomorrow and see how that goes.
Thanks again! and I will definitely go over my concerns with my OB on Thursday.
