Beans for baby?

Can they eat beans?  Harry was pawing at my bean salad today, so I gave him some (Alex had no interest)....

Other than the obvious gas factor, should I not offer it to him?  I can't find anything on wholesomebabyfood!

Re: Beans for baby?

  • Jake loves beans, I think as long as they're soft..they make for a great source of protein!

  • I don't see any reason why not to offer beans-- I know my guys had them around 9 months if not before.  They are a cheap, easy source of protein!

  • beans are a great finger food! if you use canned, just rinse really well, it reduces the sodium

  • Yes!!  Beans are great for babies.

Caroline adores beans of all kinds...and they make great finger foods.

    Go for it!!

  • Asha seemed to like pintos and cheese - and busch's baked beans (not too much of this though) ;)

  • We've given kidney, black, pinto, lima and cannilini beans (all rinsed well with warm water) and they love them.  I usually just smush them a little between my fingers to make them easier to pick up and help break them up a bit.
