...that I thought of while in the shower.
1. Does anyone still use shaving cream/gel? I use the Venus razors with the built in stuff - I haven't used a separate cream in years.
2. How old should a kid be before you leave them alone for the 10ish minutes it takes to shower?
Re: Two totally random questions...
1. I use conditioner
2. When Ella was a baby I would put her in her pack n play. When she was 2, I would let her watch tv while I jumped in.
2- I leave the kids to play on their own. They are good for at least 30 minutes and generally play very well together if they don't start to fight. They hang out in their rooms playing and I will shower with the door partially closed to my bathroom. There are no gates up anymore, so they have free reign of the house to go downstairs, but they will just stay upstairs playing. Age itself can just depend on the kid.
I always took my showers RIGHT after I would put Alex to bed. So I didn't have the "where do I put him" issue.
If it was during the day - once he could sit up and entertain himself with hand toys - I'd toss in Baby Mozart, which is 20 minutes and give him a hand toy and put him in his high chair, and get a shower that way - so around 6 or 8 months.

1. I use separate stuff.
2. First time mom so not sure yet.
1) I do! I have super sensitive skin (eek - get razor burn even with it sometimes) and really like the cream that Trader Joe's sells in the orange tube. I hate shaving.
2) I put E in the bouncy seat in the bathroom (buckled in) if she's awake while I shower, or else I shower while she's still asleep or if my H is home. However, she's only 5 months old and not mobile yet.
I use either regular soap or the kids' shampoo when I shave my legs.
Oh I totally leave the kids to play or do whatever when I shower. I will turn on a cartoon to sort of corrall them into the living room, which usually works.
Until I was comfortable leaving Ryan like that, I'd put him in his highchair with a sippy cup and a graham cracker to watch tv... I was done showering by the time he was done eating so it worked well for us.

1. I use soap or DH's shaving cream.
2. For the last year, maybe a little more, I could put on a show on the computer or tv and take a shower. I don't have the front door child locked, so I always remind her "to come get me" if someone knocks or rings the doorbell. So far, we haven't had anyone ring while I was in the shower.
1. I do. I use Aveeno for sensitive skin (fragrance free). I hate shaving and, luckily, DH doesn't care. Since getting pregnant, I've only shaved before OB appts and ultrasounds. That actually makes it harder to remove a few weeks' growth at once. I used to get my legs waxed, but that got too expensive. And it hurt a lot more once IF hormones kicked in.

1. I use conditioner.
2. Since about 12 months. We have a small house and he will wander into the bathroom and then back out to look at the TV, into his room to get a book, and then back to the bathroom. He pops in and out regularly and we have glass shower doors so I can see him coming and going.
