Transition from soft spout sippy

DD is about 19 mos old.  I know I am supposed to transition from a soft-spout sippy, but what am I supposed to transition to?  Hard spout?  She is proficient at using straws, and has several straw cups. 

Any recommendations for the next step in drinkware?

is she ready for regular cups with no lid?

We are working on that, but she is a chugger.  So no, not quite yet.  At least not with clothes on.

If she's good with straws I think you can stick with those or got to a hard spout. Or try a sippy without a spout - like this. My goddaughter had some like it and LOVED them because she felt all grown up drinking from a cup that looked like her mom's travel coffee mug

Is there a reason you need a sippy spout anymore at all, if she is proficient using a straw? Or does she take milk only from a sippy cup?

DD always preferred the Playtex sippy cups (hard spout). DS won't have anything to do with sippy cups, strictly straws for him.

Oooh, I like those tumbler type cups!  I didn't know they made those.

No, there isn't really a reason, I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to be transitioning her to something else.  We are working on the regular cup thing, but man, it is difficult.  She likes to slam her drinks (just like her mom ) so when she drinks from a regular, non-sippy or non-straw cup it gets all over.  I didn't know if there was an in-between that we should be trying.

Thanks for the responses!  I'll stick with the straw and maybe try the tumbler style.

I didn't transition. One day I just decided it was time for hard spout cups and I put her milk in one. She followed me around the house holding the cup and crying for about 10 minutes and then decided she wanted it badly enough to drink it. She's used them ever since.
