I had my first u/s last night. There is a baby - fetal pole, appropriate growth and a great heartbeat (168). However, the dr told me my sac was shaped funny, almost star shaped with "points". He said he had no idea what caused it and has never seen a sac that wasn't round with a viable baby in it. He also said that he's only seen these kinds of sacs in m/c patients, then told me not to worry, schedule another u/s in a month! How can you mention m/c then say not worry in the same sentence!? I'm changing drs anyway and will probably ask for another u/s earlier than that. Does anyone have any experience with irregular sacs? I'm 7w5d, btw.
eta I had a follow up appt and u/s at another dr. He sd no sac is perfectly round as no two pregnancies are the same. He made a funny face and sd as long as we have a heartbeat we have absolutely nothing to worry about the sac. He did an u/s as well and sd it looked just fine, no stars, no points to speak of ![]()
