I was five days overdue and lounging on my couch at home. I actually felt/heard the "pop" and made a mad dash to the bathroom. When I got to my OB less than 45 minutes later, I was already 8 cm!
After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!
In my own bed at home while I was sleeping. I also had a gross rupture (a huge gush). It got me out of bed right away. I am still thankful for the water proof mattress pad we have. It saved my bed.
At home in bed at 2pm on a Wednesday while rolling over to take a nap / half listen to Crossing Jordan reruns. The day before we had made the 3am run to L & D as I was having contractions only to be sent home because they stopped. Low and behold as I was snuggling in for a much deserved rest , exhausted from having showered and brushed my teeth, pop goes the water! I hopped up, grabbed the phone waddled to the bathroom while calling DH. All I said was "my water broke" he said "I'm on my way" and hung up. The contractions started within 20minutes. Just long enough for me to get dressed, finish packing the bags and attempt to walk the dogs. (trust me had anyone in our condo building been home they would have heard the first contraction as it hit me in the elevator with two dogs)
I was always afraid of it breaking while I was teaching. I had actually privately talked with a trusted student in each class. If my water broke in class I was say "___ could you go ask the secretary for an umbrella." They were to run like holy heck to the office for help.
My house. Thanks goodness. I was terrified it was going to break in front of my class.
Mine was a huge gush preceded by an audible popping sound. I got up and ran to the bathroom and literally covered the floor. My husband still makes fun of me that I didn't think to stand in the bathtub so it could go down the drain (like he would have that much common sense!)

At work in the ER. While I was triaging a patient. I didn't hear a word the kid said, rushed through my questions then ran to the bathroom to check. Word got to the charge nurse that someone's water had broke in triage and they all came running with a stretcher...yup, it was just me! oops! lol
I was delivering at another hospital so I drove to pick up DH and head on to L&D.

in the kitchen making breakfast. i was naked so water started trickling on the floor. as i went to the bedroom to wake DH up several more gushes came out, so i got amniotic fluid on the floors all over the apartment.
I had just finished having a four course dinner with the ladies that I worked with. It was a mini-shower for me. We were sitting at the table, chit-chatting while waiting for the check and I felt a pop. At first I thought it was gas, but then I thought "water broke". So I got up and quickly made my way to the ladies room. I was soaked before I even got to the bathroom. My co-workers took care of me though. One gave me about 8 pantyliners, the other gave me her workout pants to change into and the other drove me home. It is a great story! Oh, and I was 10 days early. I would have sworn that I was going to be two weeks late. I guess not!
The hospital with my first (it broke on its own right when i got there)

In bed. It was 3:45am.
ETA: That was with Henry. I was induced this time and they broke my water in the hospital.

Another on the operating room table
I never went into labor. I never even dilated, effaced or had any sort of progress. Stubborn child.
