What do you do when DH is sick?

Maybe this is a silly question. My DH is horribly sick with a stomach virus and we live in a very small apartment. My DS is spending the night with my parents so we can try and keep him from getting it. I plan on deep cleaning the home when I get off work and will sleep on the couch. I CANNOT get sick. Especially with something like that and I can only imagine how aweful that would be for DS. Yuck. Just curious as to what you do when DH is sick? It's so hard keeping DS away from him and I am doing my best to not touch anything he is touching. I'm exhausted, to say the least.

  • I guess DH just wouldn't kiss DD.  It really wouldn't be too much of an issue if he was that sick.  I would do bath and bottle at night (hubs normally does) and he would just keep a little distance in general.

  • Ha!  Listen to him moan and whine and complain that he is dying so I do everything with DS.  Then I end up getting it but don't get to be the big baby that he is!

  • Fortunately my DH has not been sick much.  Whenever he does get sick, I try to take extra good care of him.  I would still sleep in the bed with him and just limit his interaction with DS.  From what I understand, the most contagious part of an illness is BEFORE the symptoms, so chances are the exposure already happened.  Not sure if that's 100% true though.

Seriously what is up w/ men's inability to be remotely sick without having to whine & talk about how sick they are constantly? It drives me crazy.

I was going to respond- try to hide out with the kids somewhere so I don't have to listen to him talk about how sick he is... LOL.
