Gender question

so i went for my 14 week scan today and i clearly saw three dots in a triangle shape on both babies. i've heard that this means girl but the ultrasound tech wouldn't tell us because they have a rule that they cant until the 20 week scan.  has anyone ever heard of the three dots? or am i misinformed.

I've heard it is 3 lines, so yeah, I've heard of something like that. I've never had boys but from what I gather, you'd be able to see external genitalia by then (don't quote me on this)

i can't believe they have that rule- that is insane.

the external genitals are formed by 12w.... at ANY stage they can get it wrong - but they can usually get a good guess at 12w. All 3 of mine were told boy at 12w2d at my NTS - all confirmed later via US, and birth

with Griffin I didn't see how it was a penis- but with the twins it was totally twig and berries.... i have heard girls look like a big mac with 3 lines.

I highly suggest just waiting until week 20 to find out... its kinda like a reward for getting to 1/2 way.

I diagrammed it out so my mom would understand.  You can see the 3 lines clearly.  My OB called it a cheeseburger but i didnt get it.

thanks for the feedback it really sucks they won't tell me before 20 weeks. im ready to start buying stuff.

Exactly. My midwife called it the golden arches With boys it's quite obvious what you're looking at. With a girl it's just three lines.
