Two Under 2

what did you register for with #2

Re: what did you register for with #2

  • Since this one is a girl and our first is a boy we registered for more girl things, receiving blankets, pink MaM bottles and pacis, and a pink tummy play mat. Also, we put her nursery bedding set (and decor) on there, diapers, wipes that I like and a few other girly stroller toys, etc. We also have the Diaper Genie so I put a few of the refills on there as well.
  • I haven't finished my register but we didn't find out what we were having with our first and we are not with our second. But since they will be sharing a room..I registered for another bedding set to match and other odds and ends I didn't get the first time or felt I needed more of such as onesies and crib sheets..things like that.

  • I only created a registry for my own organization and the completion coupon, because I did not have a shower.

The things that we needed included a double stroller, second crib, mattress, teething rail guard, breathable bumper, sheets etc. We got a new swing, because we weren't impressed with LO#1's swing. We'll likely get a additional PnP, because LO#1 uses one at the sitter for naps. We may eventually need a second high chair.

LO#1 is a boy and LO#2 is a girl, so we'll also need all new clothes.

  • I didn't register. I have two children 14 months apart and didn't see the need to register.

  • Didn't register for anything.  They are just less than 12 months apart and even though they are different genders, we felt it was a bit tacky to register.  What we had to buy were - Bottles, new nipples, double stroller, bigger diaper bag, second monitor, clothes, blankets, towels.  Think that's it.

This, although ours were 12.5 months apart and we were team green (ended up having another girl).  I do think it's kind of tacky to register for a second child unless it comes way later than the first.

    We bought or obtained:

A new crib (someone gave us their old one)

    A double stroller

A convertible carseat for DD1; DD2 got her infant carrier

A co-sleeper for DD2 (we didn't have one the first time and I wanted to try it out).

That's it.  We've had to buy some clothes here and there because DD2 is considerably larger than DD1 was at the same ages.

  • I dont plan on registering for anything either since I dont really believe in 2nd showers... We will be getting a second crib set, another changing table so I can keep it in the family room downstairs, a double stroller and maybe a few little items like extra washclothes and new nipples... we will see as we go.

  • I'm not registering, I agree its a bit tacky - we are having another boy but we weren't going to register if it was a girl either.  But things I want/need for baby #2:

A double stroller (got one used from a friend $35-sorry I'm proud of my purchase)

A co-sleeper for our bed (as someone mention didn't have it with DS but wanted to try it out this time - we coslept but I feel more comfortable trying this until LO gets a little bigger)

Some new clothes just for LO ( I just think each boy should get a few things of their own - my first already wears mostly hand me downs.)  And some blankets.

I'm breastfeeding so no new bottles but I will buy new tubing for my pump, and some new pacis.

I had a moby with DS but also wanted a Baby Bjorn (found one at a consignment shop new for $18)

A toddler bed eventually, LO will sleep with us probably for the first year like DS did unless he decides otherwise.  And then DS1 will be 2.5 or so and we will switch him to a toddler bed.

DS uses a booster seat (that he buckles into) at my parents and likes it better than his highchair so we will get him one when LO is ready for the highchair.  Its also good for traveling, its pretty small.

Oh yeah, I want a backpack diaper bag, so I can have two free arms.

That's all I can think of right now.

Nothing.  I personally think it's kind of tacky (unless you are using a registry solely as a means to track what you need to purchase for yourself and to get a completion coupon).
