I just got some confusing news and was hoping you all could help!
I was on anastrozole 5 mg (I guess it's like Femara) CD 3-7. I was supposed to have an ultrasound CD 12, then hopefully trigger, and IUI 2 days later.
But CD 9 I had heavy CM so I took an OPK and it was positive. My first positive OPK ever! I called my doctor and he had me come in CD 10 for an u/s and bloodwork. The u/s showed I already ovulated. But my doctor said it was definitely an "immature" egg because my estrogen was so low (94).
I'm so confused. I thought anastrozole worked like Femara and inhibited estrogen, so isn't it supposed to be low? My doctor says I'm definitely not pregnant, even though we BD the 3 days leading up to ovulation. He wants me to go on birth control pills to suppress my over active ovaries for the FOURTH time in a year ![]()
Has anyone had this happen? Thanks so much!
Re: Ovulated an immature egg?
I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I don't know the answer to your question, but I would be upset and frustrated too.
I really hope that you are able to get a full picture of what happened, and that you are able to move forward with a plan that resolves your issues more clearly.
Good luck. It would be nice to prove your dr wrong.
