1 yr old toy/gifts

What do you recommend?  We're having a big party to get everyone together for the boys birthday and everyone is asking about gifts... we CD so I don't need dipes and we're all set on clothing...

My parents are getting us the choo choo wagon... and I think we're going to get the boys the play ball/pool thing that was posted...

    Mega Blocks, shape sorting toys, books, walking/standing toys, sand toys (buckets, shovels, rakes, a sand box if you don't have anywhere they can dig)...

    Good question!  This post will be helpful to me as well since our girls' party is in a few weeks and people are asking what to get them.  What is the play ball/pool thing that was posted?  I think I may have missed that one.

    One of the girls posted a kiddie pool filled with those play ball things... it looked like a blast!

    Is that fisher price house really worth the $100?

    Thanks - I'll have to check it out.

    We got the Fisher Price learning home for about $75 around Christmas and it was worth every penny.  My girls love it - they play with it all the time!

    I just checked craigslist and there's one in excellent condition for $40, just a 1/2 hr from here... You know I never thought I would allow plastic toys and then I had kids...

    Yeah, I would get it.  Then the mailbox will be broken in.  Lily was getting all pissed off in that video because the mailbox is hard to open.  Yours should open just fine.  ;)

    Harry happens to be a stubborn tantrum thrower so that would be a nice feature.  Oliver would patiently keep attempting until he won- Harry would slam it, stare at it, hit it again and then cry! :)

    my boys LOVE that thing too! they each sit on one side and open and close the door and window and laugh and laugh and laugh at each other. worth every penny! also a winner is a tent/tunnel system. they just go sit in in and hang out with each other. 

    also when in doubt you can look on amazon.com by age and see what they suggest.
