Multiples

::hunt2005::

I was just reading your reply to Babsie and wanted to let you  know what we did/do. We have all three cribs in one room and it works fine for us (for now at least).  We have a changing table in the nursery that we used a lot when they were getting up in the middle of the night, now we don't use it at all.  We also have a changing table and clothing bins on the main level.  I bought the changing table off CL for $20..well worth it!  We will eventually move it back upstairs but for now we use it too often.

Hope this helps.

  • Great, thanks! We're hoping for a onestory when we move which will simplify things, but CL might be my best friend for now!

  • I bought most of my big stuff off CL (swings, bouncers, boppys).  I never paid more than half of what is was new.  I started buying around 13 weeks so we weren't hit with a lot of expenses at once.

    It does seem like most triplets successfully share a room.  We seem to be the only ones that can't make it work.  I don't know what is going on with my boys.

    When they were sleeping, the set up with one room as the nursery and the room across the hall as the changing room was working out really well for us.  We have a few rocking chairs and a dresser with a contour pad for chaning on top of it.  I kept all of their clothes in the changing room also.  So when they were asleep I could still put laundry away.

    We also have a changing table downstairs.  Originally I thougth I could just use the changing thing attached to the PNP or change them on the floor on a mat.  I don't know what I was thinking.  Bending over the PNP changing thing was KILLING my back while I was recovering from the C-Section.  A comfortable changing table near the main living area is so important.  That thing gets used extensively.

    Also while we are on the subject of changing areas, there is no need to buy a super-fancy diaper pail that uses it's own special bags.  I have this one and it works just fine.  The special bags are costly.

  • Awesome, thanks so much! With my son we never even had a changing table, we just used a dresser top, but with three I figure we'll need the storage space for all the diapers/wipes/etc to be in easy reach as we'll go through more than fit in those cute little hanging bags in one day!

    I hadn't even thought of something for downstairs... I already considered having a swing in the changing room upstairs and the other other swings/bouncies downstairs, but a changing station hadn't occurred to me. Great idea! I'll start clearing a corner now! ;) Maybe even a diaper pail downstairs too to make it easier?? I think my husband is FINALLY starting to think through these logistics with me.. he had no idea why I was so stressed before and now I think he's starting to figure it out!

    Yes, we have the diaper champ and it works great.  Like RubyTuesday said, don't get a diaper genie where you need special bags, you change the bag daily.
