I tried banana pieces a couple wks ago and they just squished them up, but I think it might be time try again because they've mastered puff over the past week and have been taking more formula so, I think maybe they need to eat more since they should probably decrease on formula not increase.
What foods worked best for you? Did you give to them along with purees (before or after). Pedi said to hold off on berries until 9 months, but we have no allergy history in either family. I'm going to try coating in wheat germ to help them. TIA!
Re: finger food questions
kiwi and mango pieces have been a big hit with my daughter. she also does well with kidney beans and lentils. i also give her puffs, mum mums, teething biscuits and yogurt melts. if i let her feed herself her entire meals it would take hours so i usually let her pick things up while hand feeding her the chunks as well and also give her whatever my son is having as well (he isn't interested in anything that isn't pureed and can pick things up but isn't feeding himself yet).
My boys actually liked the banana, but not in pieces and they could easily hold it. My neice who is 9 months old is the same way so you could try giving them half each and see how they do?
I found this online I'm not sure how your girls are doing so I'm not sure if all the ideas are age appropriate, but you the mom would know
