I just ordered a tag jr and some books for natalie for her bday. How do 2 yr olds do with it? I think Nat is pretty "average" for her age in speaking/playing/comprehension.
We got C a Tag Jr. for Christmas (he turned 2 on 12/27). He didn't show much interest at first but in the past month or so he has been asking to play with it and bringing me the case so we can read the books. The device is easy for him to handle and he does pretty well touching the books with it. The only thing I think could be better are the books. The pages are really thick, which I assume they have to be so the chips or whatever can be inside them, but it makes it really hard for him to turn the pages. And that makes the book not lay flat so it makes it a little difficult for him to touch the device to the pages. I usually have to hold the book for him and manuver it while he touches the pages with the system.
He really enjoys playing with it now though. He's always been big on books. We read a couple each night before bed and a lot of times he'll choose looking at books over playing with his other toys. So I'd say if your DD likes books she'll like the Tag Jr. If you do end up getting one for her I'd suggest going online and adding the books to the device before you give it to her. You can also personalize it so it says her name when you start it up.
We got O one for her 2 year old birthday as well. She hasn't shown much interest in it yet, but she loves to look at books so I figure she'll figure it out soon enough.
I bought one for Justin when he was about 2.5 years old. He liked the device by itself, more than reading the books. It probably took him till he was 3 or a little more to figure out how to work the two together.

Ethan got one for Christmas last year as he was turning 2. He loved it. We took it on our trip to Florida and it was very useful! He's always done well with it independently. We just got him the regular Tag this year for Christmas, but he still likes both.
