I got a call from my OB stating the my last pap was abnormal. It WAS NOT positive for HPV, which is so great, but he wants to do a colposcopy to get a better look at the abnormal cells on my cervix. I have never had an abnormal pap before and my most recent one was in September - before my hysteroscopy and first IVF cycle. I just have to wonder if it has something to do with the IVF (or HSC). Has anyone else had this??? TIA!

Re: Colposcopy after IVF?
About 6 years ago i had an abnormal pap and had the biopsy to check on it. They didn't find anything and I always had normal paps afterward. This of course was way before I did IVF. And I have never heard of a correlation with IVF.
I think its a lot of women get an abnormal pap now and then.
I had an abnormal pap in college (and a colpo) and everything was fine. That was 15 years ago and I never had another. My dr. wrote it off as "lab error." I don't know about the corrleation with ART, but I have a friend who also had an abonormal PAP during pregnancy. Her OB thought it her use of supps could have affected the reading. She repeated it after giving birth and all was fine.
Good luck!
