I will be calling the doctor in the morning but I was really curious what you ladies thought. My DS came back from his 1 year check up with what I think is a cold. Basically just nasal congestion/cough and cannot sleep at all. This was on Friday. I started giving him small amount of cow's milk about a week before that and by the time Friday rolled around he has been drinking cow's milk in his regular amounts. I have noticed that he has been gassy lately (burping, farting more than usual) but doesn't really complain during the day. Now I'm wondering, could it be a milk allergy?
There is no history of milk allergies in my family, or any allergy really. But when he was on formula he was taking enfamil gentlease because he was too gassy on the other. Apparenly gentlease has a lower porportion of cow's milk components. What do you guys think in your experience? Cold or milk allergy?
Re: Cow's milk allergy?
I didnt know my DS was getting them until he was screaming and I saw them in there. And I hear you on the guessing game! I am always thinking he has an ear infection or something.
DD has a milk allergy, but it showed up with more force than a runny nose. She had milky white diarrhea about 2 hours after she had milk. But, that is the same reaction as DH has on milk so we sort of knew when it happened.
Personally, I would say cold. Or as a pp said, molars. I do know that there is a cold going around where we live. It is basically snotty-bogger nose, nothing too bad.
