Knits vs. Wovens

Why do you prefer knits over wovens or vice versa?? I see a lot of you that seem to dislike wovens and I'm just curious as to why. It seems like when I was buying my fitteds stash back in 08' and 09' that most of my prints were knits, so I don't have much experience with wovens. Just curious why you have a preference either way.

Re: Knits vs. Wovens

  • My kid is huge (30+ pounds at 11 months).  We need the stretch of knits.  I also hear that some woven shrink, we also works against us.

  • i like the stretch of knits and wovens seem to shrink more too.  I feel i will get more use out of knits.

  • Ahhh...that makes sense.  I just bought a TT woven for DD.  I tend to have big kids and I like the high rise on her new pattern. Hoping it doesn't shrink too much!

I have a woven TT on the way also.  I am not worried about it b/c of the larger design on TTs.  In terms of GMs since they are cut smaller a lot of the wovens I have won't last until potty training most likely.  I am only purchasing knit GMs going forward.  Plus some of the woven GMs I have are scratchy fabrics that aren't soft at all.  I don't feel like that would be as comfy for DD.
