My DS is 12.5 months and a full time walker but I never send him to daycare in shoes. I still carry him to and from the car. There is another girl in his room that is 14 months and wears shoes everyday. It seems so uncomfortable to be in shoes all day. I do pack shoes in his bag in case the weather is nice enough to go outside. I'm just wondering what everyone else does. Do you send your LO to daycare in shoes?

DS isn't quite walking yet and I don't send shoes. The other kids are walking and I do fear them stepping on his fingers and toes with his shoes. His socks are getting dirty from crawling around more so I should probably send the shoes more often.
Really? This is a new one to me. Which state are you from?
Tegan's daycare requires that they wear shoes once they are walking, but I've been sending her shoes with her to daycare, ever since she started pulling to a stand (they'd only put them on her out at the playground). Now that she's starting to walk she wears her shoes all day. She doesn't seem to mind her shoes and she has two pairs of really flexible StrideRite shoes, that are her main daycare shoes (shoes for special occasions, typically come from Target).
If she went to an in-home daycare, I could see her keeping her shoes off for the majority of the day, but in the center I like her having her shoes on during the day. I do wish they'd take them off while she's napping, but I don't think that happens. Tegan walks best either barefoot or in her StrideRite shoes. She doesn't seem to be great at walking in socks and I definitely would, at least, want her in socks at daycare both because I want her feet to not get cold and just because of germs, etc.
DD is in a 12-17 month class and all the kids in her class wear shoes. Most wear sneakers, one wears Pedipeds all the time, and DD is really the only one that goes to school in different shoes all the time. But she has tons of shoes, too.
I work at the daycare, and most of the babies in the 6-12 month class wear shoes too, even though they don't walk and it's not required.
I sent DD to school in soft soled shoes once she started taking steps. They often took them off when they were inside, but they took her outside a lot and her socks were getting destroyed. Plus I wanted to have something to protect her little feet.
Even now, in the toddler room, they often take their shoes off while they are inside. I think it's a little odd, but whatever. I'm sure it's more comfrotable for them. Heck, I'd like to take my shoes off at work
